Qualified Builder / Apprentice Builder
Stonewood Homes Waikato is an established residential building company delivering quality new homes throughout the Waikato Region. We pride ourselves on excellent workmanship, attention to detail, and providing our clients with a great building experience.
We are looking for an experienced Qualified Builder and an Apprentice/Hammer Hand to join our growing team.
Salary
Qualified Builder: 75,000–$85,000 per year
Apprentice/Hammer Hand: 45,000–$55,000 per year
About the Role
This is a hands-on position working across residential new-build projects throughout the Waikato. You’ll be involved in all stages of construction, from foundations through to completion.
The role requires someone who is reliable, professional, hardworking, and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. You’ll work both independently and as part of a supportive construction team.
Travel between residential building sites throughout the Waikato is required.

Key Responsibilities
Complete residential building work to a high standard
Work across all stages of new-home construction
Read and understand plans and specifications
Work effectively with subcontractors and suppliers
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised worksite
Communicate professionally with clients and the team
Identify and resolve on-site construction issues
Ensure work meets quality and Building Code requirements
What We’re Looking For
NZ Qualified Builder - LBP is a bonus but not essential
3+ years’ building experience preferred
Residential new-build experience
Good knowledge of NZ building practices and requirements
Strong practical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Full NZ driver licence
Reliable, honest, and hardworking
Strong attention to detail and communication skills
